Meet dotto+, a new jailbreak tweak for customizing notification badges

By now, you probably heard of Jailbreaking and its benefits to iOS users. The Jailbreak community boasts of countless tweaks that help users get more functionality and customization on their iPhones and iPads.

These tweaks range from simple mundane tweaks to elaborate system modifications and everything in between. We have covered many of these tweaks on our dedicated jailbreak tweaks section so you might want to check that out for more.

Today we look at yet another nifty tweak to something that you don’t quite think about often on your iPhone, the notification badges. By default, when you get a notification on your iPhone, the app’s icon gets a red badge with a number in it, indicating how many notifications you have in the app.

These badges can get a little annoying, especially if you’re like me, with thousands of email notifications. If only there was a way to make the notification badge a little smaller and unintrusive.

Well, say hello to dotto+, a jailbreak tweak that aims to fix that. With dotto+ jailbreak tweak, the big, bulky notification badges of stock iOS are replaced with minimalistic, unintrusive little red dots. If red is not your color, no problem! You can also choose one of 11 hand-picked colors or choose your own custom color with the color picker.

The developer has also incorporated an “Adaptive Color” option in dotto’s settings. With this option, an advanced algorithm will detect the color of the apps and adjust the color of the dots to make them match.

This tweak has already been released and is available for users with jailbroken devices on the Dynastic Repo. As is the initial release (version 1.0) you might want to expect a few hiccups. although not many, seeing as this is a rather simple tweak.

NOTE: We have these and many more jailbreak tweaks in our dedicated Jailbreak section.
